After years of working under other salons, Maddie Brown made the decision to go out on her own as a freelance hairdresser in order to effectively offer her clients the best work she could do without time, financial or other limitations. Her mission was to have the ability to create gorgeous hair in a fabulous and comfortable safe space for all. Back in 2020, her journey as a freelance hairdresser, renting a chair in the heart of Geelong, began and La Luna Soul was born.

Expanding La Luna Soul to give it a home has been a dream of Maddies for her entire career. Whilst on an educational business trip to Europe early 2023, Maddie met and had the privilege of meeting like minded people in the industry who’re as passionate as she is. Sparking these new connections enabled her to gain insight on how they run their businesses/ salons so she could bring home her newfound knowledge and use it to achieve her goals in expanding La Luna Soul.

Maddie has always wanted to have a safe and vibrant, comfortable space where stylists can come to work and be their authentic selves, while producing work they're passionate about and inspire to attract their clientele. 'Your vibe attracts your tribe' after all.

La Luna Soul as a brand new salon won’t be aligned with the mainstream aesthetic we see today. The salon will aim to give a comfortable and new experience to hairdressing. Eclectic and quirky, there will be something to look at, at every turn adding interest and difference to all aspects of the space.

From a massive lounge area with green velvet couches, vintage throw blankets and Princess Penelope (The Flamingo), to big neon signs and barn doors, all the way to the mugs made by friends for your coffees. Every aspect of this space has been thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind.

Maddie has designed the salon experience and aesthetic to the tune of expressing an attitude. ‘Accentuating your natural look’ through custom colour and extension work to make people feel amazing while being their authentic selves. Alongside strongly ensuring a high standard of work and care for the salons clientele, La Luna Soul’s mission is to also provide an environment where everyone can feel comfortable to be themselves and relax in a safe space. From the LGBTQ+ community to people with
sensory issues, La Luna Soul has thought of everything to ensure every client can enjoy the space and the experience.
